Data Formats

The Center for Engineering Strong-Motion Data (CESMD), an internationally utilized joint center of the U.S. Geological Survey and the California Geological Survey (CGS), provides a single access point for earthquake strong-motion records and station metadata from the CGS California Strong-Motion Instrumentation Program (CSMIP), the USGS Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS), and other affiliates.

The CESMD aims to continuously improve its products to facilitate the access of strong-motion data and metadata for use in post-earthquake response and for scientific and engineering research applications and is seeking user input regarding current and future data format needs.  We look forward to your feedback and encourage you to share this survey widely with colleagues to maximize participation.
