CESMD USER SURVEY
Building Instrumentation Priorities
The Center for Engineering Strong-Motion Data (CESMD), an internationally utilized joint center of the U.S. Geological Survey and the California Geological Survey (CGS), provides a single access point for earthquake strong-motion records and station metadata from the CGS California Strong-Motion Instrumentation Program (CSMIP), the USGS Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS), and other affiliates.
The CESMD is committed to improving access to strong-motion data and metadata for post-earthquake response and research. We are currently seeking user input on building instrumentation priorities to help guide future instrumentation projects. Please select up to three priorities from each list of options provided below. Survey results will be shared with strong-motion networks to inform their upcoming building instrumentation strategies. For reference, you can view the current distribution of active CSMIP stations by building type HERE. We value your feedback and encourage you to share this survey with your colleagues.
